Laaraib Ghazi is PhD student in archaeological anthropology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her interests lie in understanding construction of urban space in South Asia. Her previous work includes studying dispossession and demolitions in Delhi, waste economy and materiality of recreation parks in Delhi, infrastructure projects in Gujarat and claiming leisure in a resettlement colony in Bengaluru. Her current projects hopes to understand how material culture informs creation of infrastructure space in road-widening projects.
