Shalaka is a social designer by training. Her work focuses on urban planning vis-à-vis urban poverty and inequality. She works on how policy and planning frameworks shape economic and spatial opportunities for informal sector workers. Her research and advisory work focus on labour market, social protection, digital economy, and evidence-driven policy design.
